I’m an aspiring social scientist.
Why humble?
To start with, I’m an undergrad student, I have very little academic experience and even less actual life experience. But I also want to be a humble social scientist. We all know the damage that big theories have done to this world, be it the takes on Marxism, or the current neoliberal idiocy in the West. I want, nor expect anyone to, theorise the world. But we can use our ideas to break cycles of thought, dominant narratives, and inform actual change. I’ve started this blog to get my ideas out there, and to likewise be challenged. Humble me!
Why revolutionary?
Because our current ways of life should not be accepted. If there are social contracts, they’ve been broken in the ‘West’, if there is such a thing as justice, it is routinely jeopardised by the very states that promote it, and if humanity means anything, that is not reflected in the way our governments are taking us ever towards climate disaster. I want to be revolutionary, because I know we can’t afford not to be.
This blog will hopefully reflect my journey, as I stay humble, learn, contribute, and do my part for a needed revolution.
